Machilipatnam (Andhra Pradesh), Nov 13 A court in Andhra Pradesh's Krishna district has sentenced seven men to life imprisonment for the brutal killing of a person named Kagita Rammohan Rao more than a decade ago.
Rao was hacked to death and then dragged to a temple at Buddalapalem Gollagudem village in Andhra Pradesh’s Krishna district in 2013.
In total, nine accused were charged under Sections 147, 148, and 302 r/w 149 of the IPC for the murder, of which two died during the trial.
The investigation was led by Machilipatnam Rural Circle Inspector A Pallapuraju.
The remaining seven accused were found guilty during the trial, and on Thursday, District Sessions Judge G. Gopi sentenced them to life imprisonment.
