MACT awards compensation of Rs 54 lakh to man injured in 2018 road accident

Thane, Nov 23 The Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT) in Thane ordered compensation of Rs 54 lakh to a man who sustained serious injuries in a 2018 road accident.

Rajendra Digambar Jamdar (55) was injured on May 23 that year after he fell from the motorcycle on which he was riding pillion while it was trying to avoid a collision with an autorickshaw at Ovla Naka.

At the time of the accident, Jamdar was a sales manager with an automobile dealership and was drawing a salary of Rs 41,000.

In her order of November 20, details of which were made available on Sunday, MACT member Rupali Mohite ordered compensation of Rs 54,59,930, including Rs 29,49,492 towards loss of future income.
