Delhi court grants CBI 2 days' transit remand of Sourabh Chandrakar

LAW FINDER NEWS NETWORK | |

New Delhi, Nov 2 A Delhi court on Monday granted the CBI two days of transit remand of Sourabh Chandrakar, alleged kingpin in the Rs 6,000-crore Mahadev online betting app case.

Principal District and Sessions Judge Nikhil Chopra allowed the agency's plea seeking the transit remand to produce Chandrakar before a special court in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.

Chandrakar's counsel opposed the agency's plea, saying his client had been extradited from Oman in the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) case and not in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) case.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) said that a non-bailable warrant (NBW) had also been issued against Chandrakar in the money laundering case, and so it also wanted to arrest him.

Earlier on Sunday, the CBI extradited Chandrakar from Oman.

Chandrakar is wanted in two CBI cases and one ED case in which chargesheets have already been filed.
