New Delhi, Aug 17 A Delhi court on Monday dismissed the bail plea of Dr Vinod Kumar Ranga, a senior officer formerly associated with the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), arrested in a medicine procurement corruption case.
Special Judge Vidya Prakash dismissed the bail plea.
"The bail application is dismissed and stands disposed of," the judge said. A reasoned order is awaited.
Ranga was arrested following an investigation into alleged large-scale irregularities in procurement by the Central Procurement Agency (CPA) of medicines, surgical items, consumables and medical equipment.
Dr Ranga is the former head of the CPA office.
He was arrested on June 18 and sent to judicial custody later.
