New Delhi, Jul 17 A Delhi court has issued a notice to the investigating officer probing a sexual harassment complaint against some senior officials of a company.
Judicial Magistrate Neetika Kapoor issued the notice while hearing the complaint against the senior officials of Hero Future Energies.
The matter has been listed for July 30 for further consideration.
The complainant alleged that the CEO of the renewable energy company failed to act despite knowing about repeated allegations of sexual harassment made by a woman employee against a senior company official.
According to the complaint, instead of taking appropriate action, the management protected the official by placing him on paid leave, allowing him to return to work and not implementing the recommendations of the company's Internal Committee.
The complaint further alleged that the CEO failed to report the alleged offences to the police, suppressed evidence and neglected his legal duties.
The woman has sought the addition of more penal provisions, including sections of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, and requested a fair and time-bound investigation into the case.
