Ranchi, Aug 31 A divison bench of the Jharkhand High Court on Monday transferred to a single judge a petition challenging the state government's notification cancelling various examinations conducted by two key recruitment agencies.
The government earlier this month cancelled a number of exams and associated appointments conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC), Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC), and an outsourced agency since 2014 due to alleged irregularities.
The petition, filed by Aditya Bhaskar and Ayush Kumar Verma, was taken up for hearing before a division bench comprising Chief Justice M S Sonak and Justice Rajesh Shankar.
The petitioners said they were candidates who had appeared for the Civil Judge (Junior Division) examination conducted by the JPSC and challenged the government's decision to cancel the examinations and related appointment processes.
During the hearing, the division bench was informed that similar petitions challenging the cancellation of various examinations conducted by the JPSC and JSSC were already pending before a single judge of the high court.
Taking note of the submission, the division bench transferred the petition to the single judge who is already hearing the other related matters.
Several petitions have been filed before the High Court challenging the state government's decision to cancel various examinations and recruitment processes conducted by the JPSC and JSSC.
The cancellations followed a notification issued by the Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Rajbhasha Department of the state government on August 18.
