J'khand HC refuses stay on notification cancelling appointments of FROs, seeks govt response

Ranchi, Aug 24 The Jharkhand High Court on Friday refused to grant a stay order on a government notification cancelling appointments of Forest Range Officers.

The court ordered the state government to file response in the matter and fixed September 24 as the next date of hearing.

The JMM-led government had on August 18 cancelled 22 examinations, including that of FROs and ordered a probe into 23 other tests, conducted since 2014, amid a weeks-long students' agitation over alleged irregularities in recruitment exams.

On August 22, the high court stayed the notifications cancelling the appointments of Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs) and those recruited through the JSSC-CGL examination.

The court on August 21 had stayed the notifications cancelling the 11th and 13th Jharkhand PSC exams, besides putting a clamp on the order scrapping the appointments of food safety officers.

The high court also made it clear that on September 15, it will hear the matter at 12.15 pm, earlier than the scheduled 2.15 pm.
