Judges appointed to Chhattisgarh, Gauhati high courts

New Delhi, Sep 9, 9:52AM Three judges have been appointed to the Chhattisgarh High Court and two additional judges to the Gauhati High Court.


According to the Union law ministry, three judicial officers have been elevated as judges of the Chhattisgarh High Court.


In the Gauhati High Court, one advocate and one judicial officer were appointed as additional judges.


Judicial officers and advocates are appointed as judges in high courts.


Additional judges are usually appointed for a period of two years before being elevated as judges, or what is commonly called permanent judges.
