Jalna (Maharashtra), Aug 7 A special court here has sentenced a 21-year-old man to imprisonment for the remainder of his life for sexually assaulting a three-year-old girl, thus delivering the verdict within 57 days of the crime.

The court pronounced the verdict within 25 days of receiving the case, officials noted.

Ajay Santosh Vitore, the accused, was held guilty under sections 65(2) (rape of female child under 12 years of age) and 140(4) (kidnapping or abducting a person with the intent to subject them to grievous hurt, slavery, or unnatural lust) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita alongwith provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act on Thursday.

The girl was crying uncontrollably, and bore visible injuries on her face, limbs, and clothes. Sadar Bazar police then arrested Vitore.
