Muzaffarnagar, Aug 3 A fast-track court in Uttar Pradesh's Shamli district on Monday sentenced a man and his two sons to life imprisonment for the 2022 murder of a man over an old enmity, a prosecutor said.
Fast Track Court Judge Ritu Nagar convicted Vivek and his sons, Vishant and Krishanpal, under IPC Sections 302 (murder), 307 (attempt to murder), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
The court also imposed a total fine of Rs 1.46 lakh on the three convicts, District Government Counsel (Criminal) Sanjay Chauhan told PTI.
According to the prosecution, Vinod Kumar was shot dead while his son was injured in the attack by the accused in Lank village under Shamli police station on January 3, 2022.
The case was registered on the complaint of the deceased's brother, Yashpal.
Chauhan said the motive behind the crime was an old enmity between the two sides. The three accused have been in judicial custody since their arrest in connection with the case.
