Gurugram, Jul 28 A POCSO court in Nuh sentenced a convict to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for unnatural sexual assault and murder of a 17-year-old boy in 2019 and imposed a fine of Rs 45,000, police said on Tuesday.
The court of Ashu Sanjeev Tinjan, additional Sessions Judge, Fast Track Special Court POSCO, Nuh, pronounced the judgement on Monday.
According to the police, on the night of October 31, 2019, a 17-year-old boy from Dihana village in Nuh district went missing from his home. The following morning, his body was found hanging from a noose inside a structure used for storing fodder in the village.
In a complaint, the deceased's father alleged that certain individuals had subjected his son to unnatural sexual acts, subsequently murdered him, and then hung the body to make it appear as a suicide. Based on the complaint and the ensuing investigation, an FIR was registered at the Sadar Nuh police station on November 11, 2019, he added.
Nuh police, during the investigation, established grounds for offences under Section 302 (murder) and Section 201 (attempt to destroy evidence) of the IPC, as well as the POCSO Act, they said.
"Following the conclusion of the trial and based on the evidence and witness testimonies, the court sentenced the accused to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 45,000. Failure to pay the fine would result in additional simple imprisonment", said the spokesperson of Nuh police.
