SC says high court to decide pleas related to Rajasthan Cricket Association polls, results

New Delhi, Nov 4 The Supreme Court on Wednesday said the Rajasthan High Court would decide pleas related to the state cricket association's elections and declaration of results.

A bench of Chief Justice Surya Kant and justices Joymalya Bagchi and V Mohana made clear that it cannot "hand-hold" the high court in deciding the petitions related to the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA).

It said the parties are free to approach the top court if they are aggrieved by any decision of the high court and no pre-emptory orders can be passed on rival claims.

Earlier on September 29, the top court had refused to stay the RCA election scheduled on that very day.

However, it had directed that the poll result shall not be declared.

On Wednesday, senior advocate Manan Mishra urged the bench to allow declaration of results of the RCA poll held on September 29.

The bench said that everything will be decided by the high court.

It said the ombudsman can come into picture only if the high court holds that the RCA polls were not validly held.

The counsel for the Rajasthan government had earlier told the bench that the high court had appointed an administrator for RCA.
