Etah (UP), Jul 18 A court here on Saturday sentenced four men to life imprisonment in a 33-year-old murder case and imposed a fine of Rs 38,000 on each of them, police said on Saturday.
The case dates back to May 21, 1993, when a complaint was lodged at Jaitra police station alleging that the accused had shot dead the complainant's brother.
A case was registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including murder, attempt to murder, rioting and unlawful assembly.
Following investigation, police filed a charge sheet against Mintu, Brijpal alias Vijaypal Singh, Pappu alias Kusum Kumar and Durvijay Singh, all residents of Baniyadhara village in Jaitra police station area.
On July 18, Additional District and Sessions Judge Manisha announced life imprisonment for all the four accused along with a fine of Rs 38,000 each, police said.
