Bijnor (UP), Jul 19 A court here has sentenced a woman to life imprisonment for murdering her four-year-old son here in 2024.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Lokesh Nagar on Saturday convicted Aadesh Devi and also imposed a fine of Rs 60,000 on her, Additional District Government Counsel (ADGC) Mukesh Chauhan said.
The incident took place on June 12, 2024, in Jalalpur Hasna village.
Devi had attacked her son, Harsh, with a spade and then attempted to set him on fire after placing him on a pile of wood. Her husband, Kapil, who returned home from the fields, rescued the child and rushed him to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
The police had registered a case on Kapil's complaint, arrested the accused and filed a charge sheet after completing the investigation, the ADGC said.
