Vijayawada, Jun 24 A local court on Wednesday remanded the police inspector accused of "torturing" a youngster to death in custody for 14 days, an official said.
Suspended Krishna Lanka inspector SSVV Naga Raju (53) is accused of thrashing Gade Sai Krishna (25) to death and then clandestinely cremating his body without the knowledge of his family members.
"Naga Raju has been produced in a local court here (Vijayawada), which remanded him for 14 days," the official told PTI.
According to the official, the suspended inspector is being shifted to Rajahmundry Central Jail.
