Court in Kerala grants 3-day police custody of history-sheeter Arjun Ayanki

LAW FINDER NEWS NETWORK |

Kannur(Kerala), Aug 11 A Kerala court on Tuesday granted custody of history-sheeter Arjun Ayanki to the police for three days.

Ayanki was arrested on Sunday in connection with a case related to allegedly challenging State Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala on social media.

He was recently booked for allegedly challenging Chennithala and defaming Chief Minister VD Satheesan on social media platforms.

Ayanki was remanded to three-day police custody by a court in Thalassery here.

It also directed the police to produce him in court on Friday before 11.30am.

Seeking his custody, the prosecution told the court that the mobile phone allegedly used to commit the offence had not yet been found.

The defence lawyers, on the other hand, claimed that the police were trying to create fake evidence against Ayanki.

They also told the court that the exact details of the seized mobile phone were not recorded in the custody application and the IMEI number of the device was not included in the remand report.
