Bengaluru, Aug 7 One of the accused in the infamous Renukaswamy murder case, in which Kannada actor Darshan is a prime accused, has approached a Bengaluru court seeking to turn approver.
Pradosh alias Pradosh Rao filed an 11-page petition before the 59th CCH Court under Section 307 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, seeking permission to become an approver on Thursday.
He also requested that he be allowed to present his plea separately through video conferencing. The court reserved its order till Monday.
Special Public Prosecutor Prasanna P Kumar told the court that the prosecution had no objection to the plea, subject to certain conditions.
He said Pradosh's application contains a detailed account of the alleged murder and the disposal of Renukaswamy's body.
The prosecution argued that if Pradosh is permitted to turn approver, he would become a prosecution witness and the remaining accused would have no right to oppose his plea.
According to the prosecution, Pradosh's testimony could be crucial.
Another accused, Vinay, has also moved the court seeking permission to become an approver.
