Pune, Sep 16 A local court on Wednesday granted bail to social media influencer Santosh Pandit, accused of making derogatory remarks targeting Maharashtra minister and BJP leader Chandrakant Patil.
Pandit was arrested for allegedly uploading videos and posts containing obscene and sexually suggestive remarks concerning a woman public representative. Police said the objectionable content was circulated through Pandit's YouTube account, which was viewed by lakhs of people.
Pandit's lawyer Nikhil Malani said the court granted him bail on Wednesday.
The Kothrud police had registered the case on September 10 under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 67 of the Information Technology Act, on a complaint lodged by a female conservancy staffer from Pune Municipal Corporation.
