Gurugram, Oct 7 A Gurugram court has sentenced a man to 20 years of imprisonment for raping a 15-year-old girl in 2021, police said on Wednesday.
The court, in its judgment on Tuesday, convicted the accused, sentenced him to 20 years' imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 30,000, Gurugram police spokesperson said.
According to the police, a case was registered in October 2021, after a person submitted a missing complaint of his 15-year-old minor girl at Sadar Sohna police station.
After the recovery of the girl, police added relevant provisions of the IPC and the POCSO Act to the case, police said.
Gurugram Police took prompt action and arrested the accused Ravi, a resident of Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur, in January 2022.
Subsequently, the police collected all necessary evidence and statements of witnesses against the accused. The same were presented before the court, they said.
