Latur, Jul 10 A court in Maharashtra's Latur district has sentenced a mother-son duo to five years of rigorous imprisonment in an attempted murder case that occurred in 2024.
Additional Sessions Judge delivered the verdict on Thursday, holding Gaurav alias Jyotiba Chandrakant Nikam and his mother Savita guilty, and imposed a fine of Rs 15,000 on each of them.
According to the prosecution, a complaint was lodged at the Chakur police station by Pallavi Nikam in connection with the attack on her husband Arjun Nikam.
The incident took place on October 18, 2024, in which the convicts assaulted him with sticks for lodging a police complaint against them. He sustained serious injuries to his head, hands and thigh, and was admitted to a hospital, where his medical examination confirmed that he had suffered a skull fracture.
After examining the evidence and testimonies, the court convicted the duo.
